Whether you just bought your first Mac or have been using one for years, it’s always good to have a refresher. Join us to find out some interesting ways to use your Mac.

Also, David Whitby will continue with our popular Tips n Tricks series for the iPhone and iPad.

Billy Chang will have the latest installment on his monthly discussion of Apple news and rumor control.

The new iPhone 4 is here! We will have a special presentation by Billy Chang, highlighting some of the phones new features, including the hi-res screen and improved camera features. We will also touch on some of the controversies surrounding the new phone - it will certainly be a lively discussion

David Whitby will continue with our popular Tips n Tricks series. David will share worthwhile and enjoyable new ways to get more out of your iPad - great if you just acquired one, and very enticing if you are weighing the merits of these little wonders.

Billy and David will share the stage for a discussion and analysis of the hot new Mac Mini - the most powerful and value-packed Mini yet released. For many users, the new Mini can form the nucleus of a home computer and media entertainment system - learn how.

Apple’s World Wide Developer’s Conference is being held this month June 7-11. With Steve Jobs doing the Keynote Presentation, there’s bound to be new product announcements like the new iPhone to go with iPhone OS 4.

We’ll be discussing the new iPhone, the new OS, and anything else Apple announces at WWDC. We’ll also be having our standard Tips n Tricks and other monthly features.

We are now heading full speed into the holiday season, with Thanksgiving just ahead, Chanukkah and Christmas only a few weeks away, and then New Years right around the corner. This has been a busy and productive year for the SGVMUG, with a number of very good presentations to our credit. Thank you all for your continued support of our activities. (more…)

November 2009 Meeting

As we look forward to the coming holidays, the November 16th  SGVMUG meeting will focus on ways you can use your computer to help you get through the season and have fun while doing it.To begin the meeting, Billy Chang will begin the meeting with a brief overview of the newest iMac computers released by Apple in mid-October.Next, Ron Streicher will conclude the presentation he began in October by showing how to interface your computer with your home entertainment systems.  The myriad of audio and video connectors and formats will be demystified, as will cures for some of the common “hum and buzz” problems that can occur when you try to hook it all up together. Special Announcement!

Apple Releases OS X 10.6 “Snow Leopard” Early!Apple has announced that the new OS version 10.6, known as “Snow Leopard,” will be released on Friday, August 28th, about a month earlier than previously expected. As a result, the SGVMUG has rescheduled our meeting plans to provide a timely, in-depth review of the new Operating System at our September 21st meeting. (more…)
