Editor note - with the exception of Jumbo Calculator all apps are designed for both the iPhone and iPad

iPad Apps
1. Audible.com - Allows direct downloading of audio books without connecting your iPhone/iPad to your computer.

2. Wattpad - not a list of best seller to buy but a clearinghouse of works from new writer, all offerings currently free

3. MobileMe Gallery - with a MobileMe account you can share any iPhoto Album with your friends ( not just desktop access anymore )

4. Jumbo Calculator - just what the title says!

5. Calcbot - need more advanced functions AND a paper trail (just rotate you iPad to landscape)

6. Craigslist Pro - Quick and intuitive way to sell your stuff

7. Lexeme - Ever play Scrabble and needed to cheat a little when you just KNOW there is a 7 letter available but you can’t quite get it? Super fast determination of all acceptable words and their score value in a list.

For your Mac -
Mp3panda.com - Would you like to pay only 10 cents for your music downloads instead of iTunes’ 99 cents? For a deposit of $29 you get $49 available in your account. That’s 7-10 times the number of songs you could buy from iTunes.

Just less than a week after releasing the Wi-Fi version of the iPad, Apple announces iPhone OS 4.

As listed on Apple’s Web site http://www.apple.com/iphone/preview-iphone-os/ -

Get a sneak peek into the future of iPhone OS.

On April 8, Apple unveiled plans for the biggest and most exciting iPhone software update yet. iPhone OS 4 will include over 100 new user features for iPhone and iPod touch owners to enjoy. And for developers, a new software development kit (SDK) offers over 1500 new APIs to create apps that are even more powerful, innovative, and amazing.

iPhone OS 4 will ship this summer for iPhone and iPod touch, and for iPad in the fall. A developer beta is available now.

Among the 1500 new APIs and 100 new features are -

Multitasking (run multiple apps at the same time)
Folders (for better organization and screen use)
iBooks (the iPad bookstore comes to the iPhone)
iAd (Apple enters the advertising ring for in App ads)

Just like iPhone OS 3.0’s Voice Control and digital compass, some features won’t work on all iPhones. For example, multitasking will only work on the iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3rd Gen (late 2009) 32 and 64 GB models.

You can watch the hour long presentation from the link on this page http://www.apple.com/iphone/preview-iphone-os/ or by watching thru the Apple “Special Presentations” podcast page in the podcast section of the iTunes Store - http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/apple-keynotes/id275834665
