Creating your own blog has never been easier. You can share your expertise, opinions, photographs, artwork, and promote your business in your blog. Some blogs have become so successful that their owners are completely supporting themselves through them.

WordPress is one of the most popular blogging platforms — it’s very easy to set up a blog and post text and graphics, and its basic features are free of charge.

Liane Enkelis and Garry Margolis run Metroduo, a popular site that provides LA area residents and visitors with information on activities and events accessible via the Metro Rail system. She is a photojournalist, writer, and college instructor; he is a Mac consultant, writer, and photographer. They will show you how to set up your own WordPress blog with live, on-line, step-by-step demonstrations.

The meeting will be held at the Pasadena Public Library Main Branch Auditorium at 7:00 p.m. Following the general meeting, we have our informal Meeting after the Meeting at Coco’s Restaurant, 77 North Lake Avenue (between Colorado Blvd. and Holly Street).

Holiday Greetings to You All

On behalf of the Board of the San Gabriel Valley Macintosh Users Group, I would like to thank all of you for your participation in and support of our activities during this past year. As we enter into 2012, we eagerly anticipate new and exciting products and applications from Apple, and will bring these to you as they develop.

Because of conflicts with the Consumer Electronics Show, the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, and the MacWorld Expo, we will not be able to schedule a SGVMUG meeting in January. Also, because of the Pasadena Library’s holiday schedule in February, our next meeting will be on the first-Monday, February 6th, 2012 at our usual time of 7:00 p.m. We will return to our regular third-Monday meeting schedule in March.

We look forward to seeing you at our meetings, and please check back here on the website to keep apprised of our upcoming activities.

Best regards for the New Year,

Ron Streicher, President
